Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Propane Compares Favorably
In remodeling projects large and small, you have many opportunities to
engage customers about the benefits of propane appliances. Here
are a few ideas:
If you’re under contract to repair or replace an electric heat pump,
consider discussing how a propane furnace can dramatically improve
your customer’s comfort. Air flow from a propane furnace can be up to
25 degrees warmer than that generated by a heat pump, and the furnace
will last twice as long.
It’s a fact: Propane water heaters are up to 30 percent less expensive to
operate than electric water heaters and the propane units have a
recovery rate nearly twice as fast as standard electric tank water
heaters. A propane tankless water heater costs approximately 60
percent less to operate than a standard electric unit while providing
a continuous flow of hot water.
Unlike electric units, which take time to heat up and cool down, instant
propane heat gives discriminating customers more precise temperature
control and even heat distribution. Buyers can choose from a wide array
of propane cooking appliances, including convection ovens; deep fryers; and
indoor griddles, grills and cooktops with sealed burners for easy cleaning. With modern features such
as pilotless ignition and improved insulation, today’s propane cooking appliances are highly effective
and easy to use.
Why spend any more time than necessary doing laundry? A propane clothes dryer will heat up fast to
dry clothes quickly and evenly. A propane clothes dryer is efficient and economical because it delivers
heat quickly, and most models can sense when the clothes are dry and shut off automatically. Additionally,
propane clothes dryers produce a moist heat, meaning clothes come out soft, wrinkle-free and with less
static cling.
When people hear about propane, outdoor grills often come to mind first. But with modern advances in flexible
gas piping, you can easily deliver the benefits of propane to a wide range of outdoor appliance such as lighting,
pool or hot tub heaters, and outdoor refrigerators and hearths.
